By now, you should have heard about the Experiential Learning Fair coming up on Feb. 14. But what exactly is experiential learning? How do you satisfy the requirement? And how does it benefit you and position you for success after graduation?
Undergraduate students are invited to participate in the inaugural Experiential Learning Fair to be held in the Tate Center Grand Hall on Feb. 14, 11am-3pm. Co-sponsored by the Office of Experiential Learning, Career Center, and Student Government Association, the event will feature several units and programs from across campus that offer approved courses and non-credit EL activities. Free pizza and refreshments will be served for the first students through the door.
Its finals week and the fall commencement is almost here. As the semester comes to a close, I want to remind you about a couple of fast approaching deadlines.
You've probably heard about the Double Dawgs program by now. It's one of the hottest topics on campus--along with our SEC football championship bid. Since the Double Dawgs program launched in August, more than 10,000 people have visited the website and the program listing page has been browsed over 16,000 times. That's an average of over 1,300 views a week!
As I'm writing this article, our director of Academic Honesty and Integrity Phillip Griffeth is filing his annual report on the number of academic dishonesty cases for 2016-17. I'm pleased to share that the number of cases his office saw in 2016-17 went down 15% (from 569 to 482) from the prior year.
