Giving

The mission of the Office of Instruction is to enhance the learning experience for all students and to provide faculty with the tools they need for success in and outside the classroom.

We are always looking at ways to improve the student experience and create a desire to learn, grow and achieve. Your gifts to the Office of Instruction make this possible, including to the Vice President's Fund for Instructional Excellence to the Washington Semester Program Support Fund, and ensure students not only have access to a high-quality education, but they also have access to the best resources available.

Vice President's Fund for Instructional Excellence

The Vice President's Fund for Instructional Excellence is developed out of the Office of Instruction., which oversees 14 units that enhance the student academic experiences, including the First-Year Odyssey Seminar Program, Washington Semester Program, Academic Resource Center and Learning Communities. The Fund for Instructional Excellence is used to diversify the learning experience for students by providing opportunities through these programs for international engagement; technology, programmatic and student support; and scholarships. The fund also is used to provide faculty with the means to improve teaching and learning through innovative instructional projects.

Washington Semester Program Support Fund

The Washington Semester Program continually seeks for ways to help students financially. From scholarships to need-based aid, the program does its best to ensure that all qualified students are able to attend, regardless of financial circumstance. Your gift goes directly to making this goal possible. Whether supporting the annual fund, or donating directly to the scholarship fund, each gift sustains the ability of students to participate in the program. Gifts toward the annual fund support vital functions of the program, such as providing transportation and setting up seminars with DC professionals. Additionally, the annual fund contributes to growing the program over time, with your gift playing an essential role in achieving the program's long-term goals. Gifts to the scholarship fund go directly towards supplementing program costs of deserving student recipients.
