Outstanding Academic Advisor nominations sought
Writer: Tracy N. Coley
The Office of Instruction is accepting nominations for the 2017 Outstanding Academic Advisor Award in the categories of experienced professional advisor and outstanding new advisor.
One award is given to an experienced professional advisor and one award to an outstanding new advisor. The new advisor award nominations should be reserved for advisors in their first three years of delivering academic services to students. Winners are chosen by a committee of students representing all the colleges and units on campus. Each winner will receive $600 and an award and recognition at the Summer Celebration Lunch for Advisors hosted by the Provost. Additionally, the winners will be nominated for the equivalent award given by the National Academic Advisors Association (NACADA).
The Office of Instruction developed the UGA Outstanding Academic Advisor Awards Program 15 years ago in order to encourage, acknowledge, and reward excellence in professional academic advising.
